This year as a part of our tribute to Mother’s Day, we wanted to go a little deeper to celebrate the all-encompassing embodiment of women.
Some of us are new first time mother’s, finding our way upon entering that dizzying balancing act of mother, wife, and retaining that independent woman. The one that had her own identity before being labelled Mom.
Label of Distinction
While everyone would say labels are not a part of who we are, society today has a label for everything. The most important thing is remaining true to yourself and your beliefs and continue to believe that because you are “woman” you can do it all, if you want to.
History shows us that women have always played an important role in society’s development over the centuries. From the first known poet Sappho (570 BCE), Cleopatra, Eleanor of Aquitaine, Elizabeth I, Catherine the Great, Mother Theresa, Billie Jean King, Margaret Thatcher . . . these and countless other women still continue to shape and define society, all to be the best that we can possibly be.
A Woman Is . . .
Strong, passionate, vivacious, compromising, vivacious, loving, smart, honest, positive, kind, independent, accepting, forgiving, patient, generous, sacrificing, understanding, supportive, hardworking, persistent, tenacious, compassionate and much, much more!
That’s why a Mother’s love is so healing, emotionally, spiritually and physically. A woman can be everything and anything and all at once know how to make all things work.
The Colour of Love?
If you’ve been aboard the Aspen Crossing Railway, you’ll know that we have a distinct boarding ticket that is provided when you check in. For those that like to scrap book, for children taking their first train journey, it’s a memorable keepsake.
Our first year, we had a royal blue/gold colour combo to celebrate our first year with what we believed was just the beginning of something new and wonderful here in the Alberta prairies. (2015)
Our second year, we removed the gold, but stayed with the blue as it was part of our brand colour. (2016)
Our third year, we went with red to celebrate Canada 150. (2017)
So, for our fourth year, we have chosen pink! (2018)
This year, we not only celebrate Mom and all the women in our lives, we also pay tribute to the, Women of Aspen Crossing. Both behind the scenes and in the front lines. These incredible women love what they do! You’ll see it in their excitement and enthusiasm as they go about making sure every detail is seen to. They love being a part of everything that makes Aspen Crossing such a unique tourism destination in the beautiful prairie oasis of Southern Alberta.
We look forward to seeing you soon!
