The Merry Month Of May
Train your Travel Thoughts to The Merry Month of May!
To honour this celebrated month of May, we’d like to take this opportunity to remind you about a few of our train excursions that will definitely put you in the mood to embrace all the wondrous elements of Spring, in all of its colourful glory.
Let’s start with our new Champagne Brunch. Beginning May 8th and every Sunday until September 25th, you can now enjoy our signature brunch onboard the Aspen Crossing Railway. Brunch dates back to 1895 but became truly popular in the US by 1930’s. So why not take a bite from history and add a new dimension by gathering with family and friends for this delightful culinary experience.
For those of you that love to take in dinner and a show, why not try our well known Dinner Theatre, now being offered on our moving train. Enjoy a leisurely full course meal that will satisfy the most discerning palate while being caught up in the act, by a troupe from Theatre Alberta. Whether you’re celebrating with others or looking for an intimate night out, you’ll love this distinctively new opportunity for dinner and a show!
For those of you that can’t quite decide if you’re a morning or evening train traveller, why not train your thoughts on our High Tea Train Excursion. This excursion takes you back in time, thanks to Catherine of Braganza, wife of Charles II, who began the custom of High Tea while on a visit to Belvoir Castle in 1662! Complete with all the trimmings; tea, savouries, scones, sweets and dessert. Don’t miss your chance to experience this travel back in time, only 2 dates to choose from!
For those of you that are not shy and always oblige to say “Cheese Please”, you’ll love to discover new wines that are currently being featured in Calgary. What makes them today’s popular choice and what types of pairings go best! While there is a basic rule of thumb, we firmly believe that the only thing you have to know is: If it tastes good, then it is good! Our Wine & Cheese Train Excursion is a great crowd pleaser or if you prefer a great vine experience!
For the true history buff or city slicker then you’ll love our Prairie Tour. This tour to is about the dynamics of such a diverse culture, history and the future of agriculture that impacts us all. Some would say, it all started over 100 hundred years ago, when immigrants from European countries were offered land in the prairies. Watch out for those outlaws from the Guns of the Golden West! They’ll remind you just how wild the west really was!
