Summer Wraps Up
Talk about a fantastic journey through Summer!
As many of you now know, our Aspen Crossing Railway has just about completed it’s first season of journeys through the prairies. For those of you, that have yet to discover us here at Aspen Crossing, we bid you welcome! You’re going to be hearing a lot more about us in the future!
We’d like to thank all of you that came out and took a journey with us and helped to celebrate our railway ties! Our Circus Train turned out to be a great hit with some of the more discerning critics; an 8 year old boy stated, “that was EPIC!”. Reviews like that, aren’t that easy to get from some of the toughest of critics!
From Wine & Cheese tours & Ales on Rails tours with various featured libations. There was a Meals in the Field prairie picnic lunch and an Alberta Special outdoor dining experience, to name a few. Some of you were very kind with your praise, it downright made us blush with pride. “I had the best time of my life” and “Wow, this is so fantastic, we’re on our 4th different train tour”.
Our 2016 season will have many new surprises and improvements. But the very foundation of what we are trying to share, won’t change. We’re not just a destination, we are a journey of experiences to be created, memories to be shared, and precious times to treasure time and time again!
While the addition of the new Railway was something new for Aspen Crossing, there were many other things happening here. Our campground and greenhouses were privileged to host a few summer weddings. The arrival of a 3rd Caboose Cabin that sleeps six, and to hosting the 3rd annual Southern Alberta Music Festival, which was a success, despite Mother Nature’s winter in August. And… the launch of THE POLAR EXPRESS™ Train Ride! This is a first for Alberta and we are the 2nd location in all of Canada to be awarded the rights for this magical journey to the North Pole!
Just like Walt Disney when he started out in Rural California, creating Disneyland, there were areas that didn’t quite measure up. And here in Rural Southern Alberta, we’ll get all those first season kinks ironed out. The most important thing is, that an overwhelming number of you had positive things to say and share with us. And for those in the minority, you keep us honest and on track with our goals. To make sure EVERYONE has the best possible experience to share with family and friends and having you come back time and again!
“All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them“
