Title: Campground Hosts 

Part-time, Seasonal 

Location: Aspen Crossing, Mossleigh, Alberta 

Campground Hosts will engage with visitors by first and foremost warmly greeting them. They will provide welcome packages or other general information items as well as answer any questions. Other major areas of responsibility will include property maintenance, deliveries, and educating campers on park rules.

Responsibilities and Duties: 

  • Customer Service
    • Answer phone calls
    • Check-in/check out guests
    • Complete new bookings
    • Operate campground store
  • General Maintenance
    • Campsite maintenance including trimming, washing picnic tables, weeding, liter pick up, cleaning fire pits etc.
    • Ensure sites are ready for next check-in
    • Cutting and trimming grass, trimming branches
    • Maintain cleanliness of camp bathrooms, office/store, laundry rooms, playgrounds, and public areas
  • Other
    • Deliver firewood
    • Deliver take-out food
    • Bag, store, and deliver ice
    • General policing of active, noisy sites during quiet time
    • Assist units in backing into sites
    • Operate small equipment

Currently, Aspen Crossing is looking to hire 2 camp host couples!

Hosts will work approximately 30 hours per week.

In return for your fantastic customer service, each couple will be provided with a campsite that includes Power, Water, Sewer, and a competitive monthly wage.

Title: Line Cook

Fulltime, Permanent

Location: Mossleigh, Alberta

Job Overview:  

Line Cooks are an essential part of the restaurant and food service industry. They support the Chef and are responsible for preparing ingredients, sauces, garnishes, and sometimes entire dishes. This takes some of the workload off the Chefs so the restaurant or food service establishment can run more efficiently. They know how to follow recipes, use standardized ingredients, and meet expectations for distribution of food products. They are also well-versed in regulations and methods required to ensure safety and the absence of food-borne pathogens and contaminants, including safe temperatures to cook and keep food, proper washing procedures, and an understanding of how to keep tools and prep areas clean and properly sanitized.

 Responsibilities and Duties:  

  • Memorizing recipes, policies, procedures, and standard portion sizes
  • Preparing ingredients and components of each recipe on the restaurant’s menu
  • Maintaining freshness of product and rotating old product out
  • Working with a team of Cooks to handle varying levels of activity.
  • Maintaining a clean, sanitary, and safe workspace always to avoid contamination.
  • Being aware of and following all kitchen health and safety regulations and guidelines

Title: Server

Fulltime, Permanent

Job Overview:  

Servers will engage with customers by first and foremost warmly greeting them. They accurately take food and beverage orders from customers and serve in a prompt, professional, and courteous manner.

 Responsibilities and Duties:  

  • Greeting customers upon arrival at the restaurant 
  • Providing excellent customer service during their dining experience 
  • Providing suggestions for food or beverage choices
  • Taking feedback from diners 
  • Cleaning tables and preparing spaces for future customers
  • Carrying drinks and food from the kitchen or bar area to the tables 
  • Memorizing the food and beverage menu
  • Follow cash management policies
  • Utilize the company’s POS system, adhering to Aspen Crossings policies and procedures relating to Lightspeed
  • Possess general knowledge of all aspects of Aspen Crossing including Train Excursions, Escape Room, Campground, Caboose Cabins, Diefenbaker Dining Car, Berquist House Tavern, Greenhouse, Mother’s Day Sales, Train Days, Music Festival, Train of Terror, Christmas Market, Polar Express

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Excellent customer service skills 
  • Strong oral communication skills
  • Ability to operate point-of-sale systems
  • Ability to multitask and to cater to multiple groups at one time 
  • Ability to work independently and in a group
  • Knowledge of basic math equations, particularly addition and subtraction
  • Ability to learn quickly on the job
