Train Of Terror Casting Call  2020

It’s audition time! This casting call is for the haunted experience at Aspen Crossing.

Train of Terror and Aspen Haunted Adventure are holding auditions. Auditions will be held at Aspen Crossing (Mossleigh, AB) over six days, please check the link below for time slots.

Looking for all ages, nationalities, and characteristics. Casting for classic Halloween characters (vampires, witches, werewolves, Hansel and Gretel), criminals, prison guards, judge, tour guides, and many more.

Paid and volunteer positions available.

The casting of main characters, support characters, and understudies. Not part of union.

28 character spots available. Some spots will be double cast to accommodate for hours and age. Requests for flexible scheduling will be accepted.

Aspen Crossing will be presenting the Train of Terrror this year along with the new Haunted Adventure for 2020.  There are paid and volunteer performance contracts available.


All performers will need to sign a COVID-19 waiver to ensure they are comfortable with possible interaction with the audience.  We will do everything we can to ensure the safety of both actors and audience.



Aspen Crossing Correctional Facility

Run time: 1 and 1/2 hours - scheduled runs (see for October schedule)

Actors here must be 18+ - 13 Actors


This actual moving haunt takes place within 3 boxcars that have been dressed out in the set of a train taking criminals to the Correctional Facility.  Along the way the inmates have broken loose and are causing havoc all over the train.


  • Crime Scene Investigator - questions people while waiting to board the train.

  • Judge - rendering judgement on the patrons visiting that are charged with a crime.

  • Strip Search Officer - pats down fellow actor in strip search area.

  • Strip searched Actor - wears a naked morph suit and is patted down

  • Decontamination Officer - sprays down the skeleton and mists guests

  • Dungeon Victim - Chained to wall and able to pull chains out to get at patrons

  • Bathroom Crazy - Writes in “poo” on the wall

  • Breakout Billy - prisoner that breaks out of jail cells

  • Straightjacket Sally - criminal in padded room in straight jacket

All contestants will show off their unique talents, special vocal items, acrobatics, haunted acting style, etc….  We are also looking for multiple ways to do the same scene or patter - show us you can connect with different patrons (excited, scared, not impressed, etc…)



Warden’s House

Run time: 1 hour - scheduled runs (see for October schedule)

Actors here will cross over from the Moving Haunt - 9 actors


The haunt is the finale from the the Train of Terror.  This is the deranged Warden’s House.  It includes 17 scares.  Groups of 2 to 5 people will be going through the house at a time.


  • Office/Lab Creeper - Haunts in the office, operates the tipping bookcase and steps through the living picture frame

  • Bathroom Bedroom Attacker - Psycho scene in bathroom burst through wardrobe in bedroom

  • Bed and Kitchen Scare - Both are low crouching scares

  • Human Turkey - laying on dining table, eating own intestines

  • People Eating Couch operator - Reaches out to people as they go by

  • Washing machine pop out 

  • Electrocution man - costume has no arms

  • Hanging man -  costume gag, 

  • Entrance Guard- guards the entrance to the Warden’s house



*While the Train of Terror is out, this haunt will be open to the Aspen Haunted Adventure patrons but without the actors in the house.  This attraction for the Haunted Adventure patrons will be done with a tour guide actor but no scare actors in place.

Aspen Haunted Adventure

Ghostly Garden

Run time:  5 minutes - approximately every 10 minutes from 4PM to 8:30PM 

(see for October schedule)

Actors needed - 7 actors


This is an outdoor maze that features all the classic Halloween aspects and then some.  It is the family friendly, bump in the night area.  It has 11 different scares and takes about 10 to 15 minutes for people to get through.  Actors here can be any age and will not be accessible to the public at all.


  • Grabby Gerta - grabs at people through the ivy

  • Dead Doug - come out from a coffin to  chase guests

  • Werewolf - traditional character

  • Chainsaw Charlie - Chases guests with chainsaw

  • Dino Debbie - lives in Dino Land and hides behind the boulders

  • Hanzel & Gretel - traditional Grimm characters

  • Gate Keeper - starts the maze off and control show many people go through.

  • Treat Troll - hand out the treat to people successfully arriving a the end.


Krampus’ Living Room

Run Time: 5 minutes - huge photo app.  4PM to 8:30PM


  • Folk Lore Explainer - explains Krampus Lore and helps takes pictures


Spooky Trator Ride

Run Time: 20 minutes every 30 minutes


  • Wandering Willy - wanders about catching guests unaware

  • Tombstone Tammy - waves as people go by on the tractor ride while sitting on a tombstone

  • Undead Tractor Driver - must have tractor driving skills





Rehearsals will be on Saturday, October 3rd 

The first performance is on Friday, October 9.

Rehearsals will be held at Aspen Crossing.



Call time will be a minimum of one hour before the event.

Performers will be released after hanging their costume from their last performance of the day.
